Emergency Class offered for Customer Requests

I have had several customers who have requested another Christmas card class.  Yes, it will be too late to mail them but they want them to hand to family and friends over the holidays.  The class date is set for Friday December 19th at 7:00 PM.  It will be a fun night out so even if you don't need them for this year, you can get a head start on your cards for next year.  You can even make the cards at the class with other verses so you can use them for birthday cards as there are many who have winter birthdays.

Super Easy Christmas Cards

Here are the cards that I did with the seniors at the Pearly Rideau Veterans Home today.  I also did a snowflake ornament using the "Big Shot" with them.  They all seemed to have a wonderful time.  The glitter was a big hit.  We used the dazling diamonds as well as chuncky red glitter.

 

I pre punch all of the circles for them as with artheritis and such they have trouble using them.  This way everything is ready they just have to glue, and stamp a verse.  The seniors also love choosing a verse stamp for inside of their card.  Stampin Up has a wonderful set called Many Merry Messages which is great for this.

 

The wheels are easy for the seniors to use, and they enjoy colouring.

The last one I am about to share was the most popular. They liked the tree but especially the glitter.

It is really busy today at the Stampin Up site so it is slow.  You can try again in a while if it is taking too long.  There are some GREAT deals though!

I will post some cards tonight that I am teaching Seniors at the Pearly Rideau Home this afternoon.  They are VERY simple cards as a lot of the seniors have dexterity problems.  I think you will like the cards though, as it will give you some inspiration to make your own hand stamped cards even if you are short on time as the cards will take 5 minutes or less per card.

Christmas card extravaganza- Stamp a Stack

I had my 2nd Christmas card extravaganza where we stamped a stack of cards.  The ladies had a fun night out filled with friends, stamping and food all for $25.  Plus they left with 9 completed cards of 3 different designs.

Here are the cards that they made.  They all seemed to really enjoy the Big shot which we used in 2 different designs.                                                                                                                        The Brown leather look vintage card was inspiredby a very talented fellow demonstrator Kim Assaly and the other card using the same set (Snow Swirled (item # 111690 on page 32 of the fall/winter SU catalogue)  was one that Rochelle Hewitt made me in a swap.   It also uses my favorite decorative paper Holiday Treasures (item # 112469 on page 170)  The last card is made with acetate that I designed for a swap hosted by my Up-line Josee Smuck.  It uses the Winter Post set from the Holiday Mini catalogue item #111780 and the Ski Slope designer paper item # 112994.

Quick and Easy Christmas Cards

I have the perfect card kit for those who want to make beautiful hand made Christmas cards but you don't have a lot of time.  The kit is called Handmade Holiday Elements (item #112016) on page 177 in the fall/winter 2008 Stampin Up catalogue.  Just follow the instructions in the kit to re-create these simple and quick cards.  The kit makes 18 cards.  You can add the stamp set "To you and Yours"(item # 111706) on page 177 and shown in more detail on page 45.  This is a very versatile stamp set.   I also suggest adding stampin dimensionals ( item # 104430) on page 191.  This gives the dimension to the cards.

The cards are beautiful as they are but you can take it up a notch as I have done in these samples by adding Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon (item # 111365) on page 187.

I love embellishments so in this next grouping of cards I added a Clip Assortment (item # 112580) on page 184.  No matter if you like the simple or take the cards up a notch, the recipients of your cards are sure to be pleased.

Stampin Up! Product highlite- 2-Way Glue Pen

The 2-Way Glue Pen (100425)  Page 191 in the Stamping up Idea Book and Catalogue Fall 2008

• Has permanent or temporary bond
• Blue when wet clear when dry
• Dries quickly
• Great for adhering glitter
• Chisel tip for easy application
• Washes off skin with soap and water

Quick Tip 

• Dry Bond is temporary.  Let the glue dry.  It will turn clear when dry and it works just like a sticky note.  This is great for re-positionable stencils.  This also works well when doing a scrapbook layout and you want to temporarily hold something in place to see if you like the layout.
• Wet Bond is a permanent bond.  Use the 2-way glue while it is blue and wet.  Use this when you are gluing glitter or paper.

When you first get your glue pen you will need to to push the tip in a few times to get the glue to flow and saturate the tip.  The tip will turn blue.  Always replace the cap after use.

Here is a card that I have used the 2-way glue pen to hold glitter onto the roof of the house on this Christmas card.  Unfortunately the glitter doesn't show up in this photograph.  This card is one of the ones we are doing in the Christmas card Stampaganza class Friday October rd.   There is still a few spots left if you would like to join us. It uses the Christmas stamp set "To You and Yours" on page 45 of the 2008 Fall and Winter Idea Book and Catalgue.  We also use the coluzzel, and the Big Shot.  I love this card and you won't believe how easy it is.

      

Class: Christmas Card Stamp-a-Ganza

In my last post I had said that I would update my classes.  I did but I didn't tell you that it is on my calendar.  Here is one of the CHristmas card classes I have coming up.

Christmas Card Stamp-a-Ganza! What is Christmas Card Stamp-a-Ganza? It is a monthly class to make Christmas cards. Is making your own Christmas cards one of your goals? Then don't let the time pass you by -- now is the time to plan ahead. The Christmas Card Stamp-a-Ganza will be held for 4 consecutive months (September through December- 1st Friday night each month). Make 9 beautifully embellished cards each month - 3 each of 3 different designs. Participate just once or come every month and complete 36 quality, hand-made cards before the beginning of December. Registration fee is $25 per month. Please bring your adhesive or I will have extra on hand for purchase. Place a $35 order at any class and receive a free promotional item. Sign up for this as a "class-to-go" and for an additional $5 (per class) I will stamp your images for you and you can assemble your cards at your leisure at home.
